ISES Cares :: Best Buddies Friendship Walk!


THANK YOU TEAM ISES!  

Thank you to our ISES Indiana Team as we walked for Best Buddies this past Sunday, April 28th.  Despite the weather, we still had a great Team ISES representation.  We recruited quite a few members to our Team ISES Best Buddies Team and raised money for this amazing cause.

THE POWER OF THE WALK
The Friendship Walk is the latest and greatest life-changing movement created by Best Buddies. Since 2009, more than 24,000 participants have walked in over 22 states, and raised over 2 million dollars for Best Buddies. Ultimately, the Friendship Walk changes lives, as participants walk for inclusion, friendship, leadership, and opportunity for people with and without Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

April Event Highlights :: Luncheon at The Alexander


Thank you so much, Megan King with Megelaine Images, for the event photographs!  The Alexander was built to inspire guests with the power of art.  So this ISES event on April 24th was an interactive luncheon with our fellow ISES event professionals and guests in the ART of Creating Events! In this team based challenge, each group designed, implemented, and showcased their most colorful ideas to create an event masterpiece.

It was a super fun luncheon and enjoyed by all!  Thank you so much to our event sponsors.  The luncheon event was definitely a success and we have so many people to thank for putting it all together and making it happen.  Thank you so much to Maxie and all of the Alexander staff for hosting us and providing a wonderful lunch.  Special thanks to Elite Management Services for the awesome valet services on a rainy afternoon and to Megan with Megelaine Images for the gorgeous photographs that captured the fun we had with each other.  We appreciate all of you!  Here are a few of the highlights . . .

TSE 2014 :: Call for Speakers in Nashville, TN

The Special Event 2014 will be held January 7-10, 2014 in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.  If you have a proposal for a session with a fresh new topic and would like to submit it to be included in the 2014 Conference Program please fill out the online session proposal. The deadline for speaker submissions is May 24,2013

Announcing ISES Free Member Jam Session

ISES Open Stage – Free Member Event.  Registration will include a complimentary beverage and sampling of Hard Rock food specialties!  Please join us for the open stage for your favorite ISES members and guests!!!


Free to all ISES Members
$25 for all Non-ISES members

Come join your talented fellow ISES members on June 13 at Hard Rock Cafe to show off your musical skills.  Event begins at 5:30 PM with great networking, mingling and a scavenger hunt.  Tours of the space will be given 5:30 to 7:00 PM with ISES Member, Samantha Novitski, Sales & Marketing Manager.  Performances begin at 7:00 PM and can go until 8:30 PM.  The evening will include a complimentary beverage and well as a sampling of Hard Rock food specialties.  A cash bar will also be available.  Non-members can attend for $25 as well as perform, which we strongly encourage!  The ISES “house band” will be available to accompany you. Bring your voice or your instrument to add to the festivities. Drums and keyboard will be provided.  If you have skills other than musical ones please bring those as well.

We know our ISES members are amazingly talented.  We would love to see you there and learn about the hidden talents of our local chapter.  Please join us for this free-member event.

A little background information on the Free Member Events:  ISES Indiana won and received $2,500 at the ISES Eventworld General Session in Dallas, TX in August 2012 for increasing our membership by 25%. As a part of the ISES 25th Anniversary Eventworld Celebration, there was an award opportunity for all ISES chapters to earn $2,500 for a 25% increase in membership over the ISES 2011-2012 calendar year. We are thrilled to say that ISES Indiana was one of two ISES chapters in the world to receive this award for this excellent accomplishment with an approximately 28% increase in membership last year! Great job to the ISES Membership Committee and a very special thank you to all of our members for your continued support toward our ISES Indiana Chapter! 

The ISES Indiana board members wanted to use this money as a "Thank You" to our AMAZING MEMBERS! We have chosen to use this money to give back to our members in the form of (FOUR) free member events during the July 2012 - June 2013 ISES year. We had the first in August at Victory Field, second in November at the Black Acre Brewing Company, the third event at Saddle Up Saloon in March and this fourth event on June 13th at Hard Rock Cafe.  These are free to our members and are dedicated strictly to saying thank you.  

We look forward to seeing a lot of our members and guests there!!  You won't want to miss this wonderfully exciting event and we hope to see you there. Thank you again to all of our amazing members!

·         What is your title and position at your current company? Regional Sales Manager
         
  • What does your company do?  How is it different than others like it?  We are a casino event entertainment company that provides everything from professionally trained dealers to casino quality game tables and equipment. We are different from other casino entertainment companies because we are the ONLY casino equipment supplier in the Midwest that uses REAL casino equipment and 16.1 gram casino chips. Our equipment can be found on the casino floor of over a ½ dozen casinos in Las Vegas alone. This allows us to offer the most realistic Las Vegas style casino event without any risk and much more fun!

  • How many years have you been in the industry?  I have been in the industry for two years.

  • What was your very first job? When I was 14 years old, I was a busser at a restaurant called Heritage House.

  • What lead you in into the event industry? I started out by working as a casino dealer part-time. As I dealt at events, I would end up booking events and grew to really like doing sales for casino services. My boss approached me about it and offered me a sales manager position, so here I am!

  • Why did you decide to join ISES? I decided to join ISES because of the vast network of people that I could create relationships with that would use our services.

  • What are you looking to gain out of our ISES membership and how can we help you achieve that?  I’m looking to increase my client base, increase my sales, and increase awareness of my company’s services. ISES could help by having networking events, spotlight my company on your internet resources, and allow us to host an ISES event with a casino as entertainment.

  • What is your most memorable event? Why? We hosted a casino fundraiser for the Josh Lindblom Foundation last November. I got meet him and talked about him being traded from the Philadelphia Phillies to the Texas Rangers. I got his autograph and had a lot of fun at this event.

  • What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? I was born and raised in Hawaii.

  • If you were not in the event industry, what would be your dream job?  I would love to be an ice cream taste tester.
